You may check out my vlog about Chiling Waterfalls before diving into my blog post! :) And, don't forget to hit the Subscribe button! Thanks a lot!

How to get to Chiling Waterfalls?

Chiling Waterfalls - Kuala Kubu Bahru, Selangor
Selangor River Dam
Search "Chiling Waterfalls" on Waze and it'll navigate you to Sungai Chiling Fish Sanctuary, but don't panic honey, that's the right place because Chiling Waterfalls is located in the fish sanctuary. In order to reach the waterfalls, some hiking needs to be done lol.

You'll pass by Selangor River Dam along the way before you reach the fish sanctuary and you may of course stop by for photos. When you arrived at the destination, park your vehicle in the public carpark area (no charges) before you walk into the ranger hut for registration.

Registration will be required!

Before you start with the hiking, you'll be required to register and check in at the ranger hut for safety purposes. Also, they'll collect RM1 admission fee from each person before you enter. Once done, your journey to the waterfalls begins. Also, don't forget to check out at the hut again before you leave.

You'll definitely get wet!

Yes, because you'll need to wade into 6 rivers before reaching the waterfalls. Some were shallow, but some were waist-high. So, remember to bring extra clothes to change into.

The way to the waterfalls wasn't complicated at all, just follow the path will do and you'll know when to cross the river when you see the signage as below:

Are you afraid of fish?

If yes, you may need to think twice before going on this trip because you'll need to go through this in each crossing and there's no way you can avoid them... Can you see those fishes?

Hubby was literally being surrounded by schools of fish.

The place was beautiful and it's great for a nice bath despite the crowd. We didn't expect the crowd at all, maybe because we were there late. Should really have gone there early I guess.

We only stayed there for 10 minutes before we headed back to the river crossing, it was less crowded there.

See what I mean? Basically, we had the whole part of the river to ourselves.

Avoid wearing expensive good shoes for the hike!

Hubby was only removing sands from his shoes.

If you're planning on wearing expensive good shoes for the hike, you better be throwing that thought away. You'll definitely regret it if you do that. I lost both of my soles while crossing the rivers (as shown in my vlog), luckily my shoes weren't expensive. Just wear your old sneakers or cheap rubber shoes will do actually.

What to bring for the trip?

  • Extra clothes and slippers to change.
  • Drinking water.
  • Waterproof dry bag.
  • Ziplock bag for electronic devices if you don't have a waterproof bag.
  • Food for a small picnic at the waterfalls.
  • Plastic bags for wet clothes.
  • Towel.

That's all for today! See you in my next post. Cheers!
